Strange things happening outside the Opel HQ in Rüsselsheim. No - it's not a UFO but an octocopter with a video camera: the PR team hire the tiny helicopter to shoot aerial video footage of the Opel compound. The remote-controlled craft is propelled by eight air screws.

We masked their identity for obvious reasons. A security team checked our stand very carefully. There must be a VIP coming to the stand. A politician? A film star? Sportsman? Pop star? Royalty? The team noticed every detail, concentrating on the job in hand. We saw some looking at the Power Red Astra GTC. Was it really just professional interest?

Late afternoon and journalists are looking tired. Everyone has been working hard. Energy levels are low. After all that reporting on the Opel Ampera and RAK e, these two decided to recharge their own batteries in a rather interesting way.

Two Opel Facebook fans were lucky enough to join the press days here at the IAA. Their role? Be the reporters for the community - nearly 110,000 fans on the Opel (English) Facebook page and a much larger community when you add together the communities in other countries. Jim Nolan and Yakup Pelit have been reporting from the show and posting their impressions to Opel's Facebook page. As community reporters they are reacting in real time and reporting on what other fans are asking about. Why not take a look at what they are reporting? Maybe ask them a question or two on what you'd like them to report on

Took a while, but this camera team finally found it. A Sunny Yellow Astra GTC to match their Sunny Yellow microphone.

Well, in reality they were virtually driving it. One model Astra GTC, one Dynamic Track and one driver. Put on the goggles and see how fast you can complete the lap. At the present time Ivan is in the lead on the first press day with a lap time of 21.8 seconds. Take the challenge at the IAA!
